About SSWAP

South Shore Work Activity Program (SSWAP) provides instruction, assessment, and other programs to participants 18 years and older whose personal, physical, or social challenges make it hard to find employment.

Participants enrol in the program for up to 12 months completing 1460 hours of workshops and training through four levels of the program.

All participants are assigned a counsellor to help them set personal and vocational goals as part of their program plan.

Participants complete a six week probationary assessment upon admission. Quarterly assessments are completed every 13 weeks to evaluate progress. Results are fully discussed with each participant.

Follow up for graduates is completed every three months. Graduates may access their counsellor and program supports after program completion.

Everyone who completes the program is recognized each November during the annual recognition celebration.

Our Mission: Giving people a chance to experience personal growth, develop skills, and plan for their futures.
